About Us

The Peoria Regional Learning Center (PRLC) was established in the fall of 2011. It was originally named Peoria Regional High School, but as the mission evolved, it became more of a center for learning than just a high school. The school was located inside of Wildlife Prairie Park in Hanna City, Illinois, from 2011-2022. In the winter of 2023, the school was relocated to the Peoria Park District’s Franciscan Recreation Complex in West Peoria, Illinois.

The Peoria Regional Learning Center provides secondary education to Peoria County students who may struggle within their home school for a variety of reasons. We focus on the students’ academic performance, improving their self-concepts, and enhancing their knowledge of potential careers. We are able to provide:

  • Small classes

  • Individual learning styles

  • Smaller teacher/student ratio

  • Strong emphasis on career

    exploration

  • Encouragement and development of

    social skills

  • Student mentors

  • Student life advisory committee

Our unique combination of individualized academic instruction and strong interpersonal relationships between students and staff make the PRLC a special place that promotes learning and the social and emotional growth of its students.
