Mrs. Natalie Lanser is who I think of when asked to recognize a teacher that has made an impact in my life. As my son's 4th grade teacher, she made him feel comfortable and valued in her classroom. Three years later, he still lists Mrs. Lanser as his favorite. It's easy to understand why. Natalie took the time to build a relationship with my son, and get to know him beyond just how he can academically perform. Thank you for touching so many lives in a positive way Mrs. Lanser! - Jacqui Jones

Shout out to Ms. Hammond!! When my son, Dawson entered 5th grade at Lindbergh Middle School back in 2014, he was a very angry kid mainly due to the recent death of his older brother, Deveraux, who also attended Lindbergh for Middle School. While all of Dawson’s teachers at Lindbergh understood that he was grieving, Ms. Hammond understood that he needed a space to just be Dawson and not be Deveraux’s little brother. Our family will be forever grateful to this amazing teacher for being so much more than just a teacher for Dawson, she was a life saver right at the time that my son was drowning!! - Kristie R. Appreciating what a teacher does is easy, they do everything! Our Adult Education Teachers who provide instruction at the Peoria County Jail, Logan Center, Proctor Center and the Friendship House are AMAZING! They have Lion Strength and Lamb Approach when working with their students who often haven't been in a classroom for years. Some did not have positive experiences with learning, but our Adult Education Teachers don't let that hold their students back! They provide the structure, the extra help, the caring that makes it possible for their students to be successful and CHANGE THEIR LIFE! Thanks, Sandy, Sue S, Sue B, and Shelly C for all you do for our students!

The Regional Superintendent wants to extend her well wishes for Teacher Appreciation Week to her daughter, Kate Olcott. She is a first year special education teacher at Pleasant Valley. The first years of teaching are pure survival. She has had a lot on her plate to manage, but she has made it! She is very proud of her!

The Regional Superintendent wants to go back to her roots for this teacher appreciation post. Her first teaching job was at the Valeska Hinton Early Childhood Education Center teaching for Peoria Public Schools. After starting in 1993, along came Whitney Milam and Val Ray. Nothing beats old teacher friends that have laughed, cried and supported you for more than 25 years. We take this picture during the first week of school each year. We may look a little different, but some things have stayed the same. As the Regional Superintendent states, "There is no way that I could've survived this career without the support of these 2 teachers. They are on the front lines taking care of our youngest students each day. Sheroes!!" Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!
