The @PeoriaROE48 Spotlight Educator for October is Janelle Duncan! Janelle is a kindergarten teacher at @Monroe70. Janelle was nominated to be the @PeoriaROE48 Spotlight Educator by a community member who stated that Janelle "goes above and beyond to meet the needs of all of her students. She utilizes a wide range of instructional strategies that are well-suited to the content being learned and provides explanations and feedback that furthers student learning. The culture of Janelleā€™s kindergarten class is conducive to student learning and development. She helps students develop skills to work purposefully and cooperatively in groups and independently. Janelle also goes above and beyond to support other teachers and support staff in the building. She has spent lots of time both during the school day and also outside of the school day working with them. Janelle is a true team player and is always willing to do whatever is best for the school!' Janelle was excited to be nominated. When asked about being an educator, she replied, "Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life." ~Confucius Congratulations, Janelle! Thank you for all you do for teaching and student learning.
